The desk will confirm the room, write your room card and set a time for the check-in sitting, which takes only a few minutes on arrival. Nothing is held without a reply from the desk, so please wait for the confirmation before travelling.
The desk is open Monday to Saturday from 8:00 to 20:00 and Sunday from 9:00 to 17:00. If you expect to arrive after those hours, call ahead and the keeper will meet you at the door rather than leaving a lock box. Late arrivals are walked to the room by a keeper, and the parlor remains open to guests once the desk has closed for the evening.
Yes. The trail desk window faces Main Street, and the keeper refreshes a note each day with the road conditions, the weather and the walking distances. Ask at the desk during your stay and you will be given a plain answer with a direction, a distance and a note on what to expect. The desk does not sell tours and takes no commission from anyone.
